Symposium on Dam Removal, September 20

Symposium on Dam Removal, September 20

The Beaver Watershed Alliance is hosting their annual Beaver Lake Watershed Symposium on September 20 in Fayetteville.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Dam Removal and River Restoration”. The morning will consist of presentations and discussion about restoring stream connectivity with dam removals. Darrell Bowman with the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Brian Graber with American Rivers, and others are slated to present. Then in the afternoon, everyone will head out to a couple of field sites to get a first-hand look at potential project sites.

The AWRC is a proud partner of the symposium. We are also seeking poster presentations for work in or related to the Beaver Lake Watershed. To submit to present a poster, send the following information to Erin Scott at erins@uark.edu no later than August 31, 2018: authors and affiliations, presenting author, poster title.
