Join the Board of the Lake Fayetteville Watershed Partnership

There are board positions open with the Lake Fayetteville Watershed Partnership (LFWP) in Northwest Arkansas. Anyone can join the board, including students, professionals, or anyone else who wants to promote watershed stewardship.

The purpose of the LFWP is to “promote, preserve, and enhance the integrity of the Lake Fayetteville watershed through scientific evaluation, educational programs, and voluntary cooperation.” Those who are on the board are responsible for planning and participating in annual events like the spring and fall Lake Fayetteville Cleanups, invasive species removals, public outreach through speaker series, and more.

“I love being on the board because it makes me feel more connected to my community,” says Melissa McCarver, who is serving as Chair of the LFWP board. “I like to walk the trails with my dog and watch all the wildlife, so I really have a vested interest in maintaining the water quality and land surrounding the lake.”

For anyone who is interested in becoming a member, or joining the board, you can email LWFP at info.lfwp@gmail.com. You can also go to their next meeting scheduled for January 7, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the Lake Fayetteville Environmental Study Center at 511 E Lakeview Drive (technically in Springdale).
