AWRC Launching Water Center Fellows Program for Summer 2024

AWRC Launching Water Center Fellows Program for Summer 2024

The Arkansas Water Resources Center is trying something new in one of our core mission areas, workforce development in water resources fields – Water Center Fellows.

The AWRC will fund water undergraduate fellowships in Summer 2024. Students will work on a project with a faculty mentor. Projects will be water-related and address an emerging research, education or communication need.

Undergraduate students from any institution of higher learning in Arkansas are eligible. Depending on interest, students may have the option to complete their internship with a faculty member at their home institution anywhere in Arkansas.

Students will be able to request a preferred faculty mentor, but don’t have to have a faculty connection to apply. The AWRC can assist interested students in identifying faculty whose research aligns with their interests.

Faculty with planned research projects for Summer 2024 may also initiate the process.

Water Center Fellows will be required to complete a research project and present their findings at the Arkansas Water Resources Center conference, held each summer in Fayetteville, AR.

Both students and faculty who are interested in participating in this program should contact Erin Grantz, AWRC Program Manager, at egrantz@uark.edu or 479-575-7192.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch. The program design will reflect interest and feedback that the AWRC receives over the coming months. We want to hear from you!
