Wild and Scenic Film Festival Coming to Fayetteville October 24
The Pack Rat Outdoor Center is hosting the Wild and Scenic Film Festival, where proceeds will go to support the Buffalo River Watershed Alliance (BRWA). The Arkansas Water Resources Center is a proud sponsor of this event!
The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is a collection of short documentary films that celebrates our environment, addresses environmental concerns, and highlights the extraordinary adventures that await in the outdoors. The festival is set for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Fayetteville Town Center. Tickets are $15, and $10 from each ticket will go to the BRWA.
This event focuses on a diverse playlist of amazing short films, but there is also a lot more entertainment planned for the evening. During a pre-event reception from 5:00-6:00 pm, guests can enjoy cold drinks, live music, vendors and giveaways, local photography, and more.
Earlier this year was the 50th anniversary of the federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, which preserves certain rivers that have outstanding natural, cultural, and recreational values. Did you know that Arkansas has 8 Wild and Scenic Rivers that comprise 210 miles of protected waterways? The Buffalo National River (also the country’s first national river) is one of those.
