IRWP to Host Land Conservation Field Tour

IRWP to Host Land Conservation Field Tour

By Stephanie Burchfield, IRWP

The Illinois River Watershed Partnership invites you to join them for a free field tour to learn about land conservation and the multiple different options available to landowners interested in permanently protecting their land. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 18th, 2018, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, 234 E. Henri De Tonti Boulevard in Tontitown, Arkansas.

The morning will begin with a presentation by Terri Lane, the Executive Director of the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust. She will explain about different types of land conservation options such as public vs. private, entire properties vs. just a section of a property, easements, fee simple donations, and more. Terri will also talk about the potential benefits and incentives that may be available to landowners who choose to adopt one of these options.

The morning presentation will be followed by a field tour of three local sites that have been permanently conserved using the different methods discussed. Lunch will be provided (free). RSVP required. Please contact Stephanie Burchfield at stephanie@irwp.org or call 479-215-6623 for more information.
