AWRC Water Quality Lab Still Accepting Samples
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking necessary precautions and will continue to accept water samples for analysis.
We offer an essential service by continuing to analyze water samples for stakeholders. “There are many agencies, researchers, producers, and others who are able to safely collect water samples during these times, and they rely on us to analyze those samples and provide timely results,” says AWRC director, Brian Haggard.
The health and safety of our staff and clients is our number one priority, and we have taken proactive steps to eliminate person-to-person interaction. When we can work from home, we do, and when we must be in the lab to run analyses, only one person is in the lab at a time. We also disinfect workspaces when we arrive and before we leave the lab each day.
To ensure the safety of those dropping off samples, there is a sample drop-off station at the front doors to the building, which is closed to all non-essential personnel. We retrieve samples and disinfect the station and the samples before taking them into the lab.
“While this is certainly a large change to our normal routine, it’s great to continue serving our clients in a safe way,” says Brina Smith, pictured above. “Our clients can give us a call for questions about sample delivery and analysis any time.”
