Undergraduates can Apply for Summer Research Internship

Are you, or someone you know, an undergraduate student looking for research experience in water, energy, or food systems? The EcoREU at the University of Arkansas provides students the opportunity to work with faculty during a 10-week summer program to gain research experience. Students will get to work with biologists, hydrologists, chemists, engineers, or even economists.

This is a paid internship – students earn $5,500 over the course of the program, and receive free housing, food stipends, and travel assistance to and from the program. Students from any college or university around the country can apply to the EcoREU program, and no prior research experience is required.

The EcoREU leaves students with new knowledge, confidence, and even lifelong friends and mentors. Some students even end up doing graduate research with their EcoREU adviser!

The program is administered by Dr. Michelle Evans-White in Biological Sciences and Dr. Brian Haggard with the Arkansas Water Resources Center. The National Science Foundation funds this program, along with many other REUs around the country.
