There Is Still Time to Apply for the REU Summer Undergraduate Research Program

The deadline to apply to the Ecosystem Services Research Experience for Undergraduates (EcoREU) is extended to January 31, 2019.

The EcoREU is a great way for undergraduate students to gain fun and valuable experiences in scientific research, make some money, and form lasting friendships. The program lasts 10 weeks during the summer of 2019 and students receive a total of $5,500 plus food stipends and free housing.

Research in this program focuses on environmental systems and sustainability. Students get to work with a faculty mentor to develop and implement a research project that culminates in a poster presentation at the Arkansas Water Resources Center annual conference.

The program is administered by University of Arkansas research faculty, led by Dr. Michelle Evans-White in Biological Sciences and co-administered by Dr. Brian Haggard, Arkansas Water Resources Center director and professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and Dr. Marty Matlock, Resiliency Center executive director and professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering. The National Science Foundation funds this program, along with many other REUs around the country.
