Presentation on Nutrient Trading in Arkansas Hosted by BWA, Open to the Public

The Beaver Watershed Alliance (BWA) is hosting a presentation on “Nutrient Trading and Act 335 in Arkansas” as part of their speaker series focused on “Investing in Water Supply Protection in northwest Arkansas”.

Allan Gates, an environmental attorney with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, PLLC, will discuss the proposed nutrient water quality trading regulation and how it can be used as a tool to help improve water quality and drinking water supplies in Arkansas.

Nutrient trading allows the exchange, buying, or selling of nutrient reduction credits. In general, water quality trading utilizes a market-based approach that allows one source to maintain its regulatory obligations by using pollution reductions created by another source.

Read “Progress is Being Made on Nutrient Trading in Arkansas” for related information.
