Great Plains Regional Symposium on Water Resources Slated for October 24-26

The 2018 National Institutes for Water Resources Regional Symposium is set for October 24-26 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The theme is “Water Resources of the U.S. Great Plains Region: Status and Future”.

Water Center directors from the nine-state region will come together along with many others to discuss a variety of topics important to the Arkansas and Missouri river basins. Other topics will include nutrient loading and harmful algal blooms, agricultural water use, surface and groundwater contamination and depletion, industrial and municipal water use, impacts of climate change on water resources, and more.

Federal representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Geological Survey, and other federal agencies focused on water resources will also participate. Speakers will discuss their perspectives on basin-wide water issues, as well as research and funding opportunities.
