Call for Nominations for the 2020 Universities Council on Water Resources Awards

Have you recently completed your Ph.D. or do you have a recent Ph.D. graduate in the fields of Water Policy and Socioeconomics or Natural Science and Engineering? If so, you should consider submitting a nomination for the Ph.D. Dissertation Award through the Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR). Dissertations must have been completed between September 1, 2017 and August 31, 2019 to be considered.

Each year, UCOWR recognizes outstanding professional achievement during all career stages.  The deadline to submit nominations for the 2020 UCOWR conference in Minneapolis, MN is October 1, 2019.

UCOWR is a consortium of academic institutions and affiliates invested in water resources research, education, and outreach, with the mission of expanding the capacity of universities and their partner’s to address current water resource challenges.

About Arkansas Water Resources Center

Founded in 1964, the AWRC engages with students by supporting student research and providing employment opportunities. The AWRC also operates a water quality laboratory where water samples are analyzed for researchers, students, and the public.

Mission Statement

The mission of the AWRC is three-fold:

  1. to support water research in Arkansas
  2. to train future water scientists and engineers
  3. to share information with stakeholders.
