Arkansas Agriculture, Forests, and Water Conference: 2025 Topics Announced

The Arkansas Water Resources Center is excited to unveil the topic line-up for the 2025 Arkansas Agriculture, Forests, and Water Conference, set for July 22-24, 2025. This annual event brings together researchers, policymakers, and community members to discuss critical issues shaping Arkansas’s natural resources.

This year’s conference will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Emerging Research on PFAS and HABs
  • Forests, Emerging Marshes, and Wetlands
  • Lake Frances Bottomland Forests, Wetlands, and Vision
  • Riparian Buffer Programs, Lessons Learned
  • Climate, Hydrologic, and Watershed Drivers of Water Quality
  • A New Approach to Conservation and Recreation Management of Rivers in Arkansas
  • Groundwater, Droughts, and Agriculture
  • Updates from the Natural Resources Division
  • Arkansas Water Young Professionals

The Arkansas Water Young Professionals group is a new addition to the conference topic line-up this year. This volunteer-driven group connects, trains, and supports early-career professionals in the water industry through workshops, water facility tours, and networking events across northwest Arkansas. Group membership is free and open to all, regardless of age or experience, with the network primarily serving professionals aged 35 or younger or those with 10 or fewer years in the industry.

During the conference, the group’s session will focus on transitioning from student life to the workforce, offering strategies for skill development and networking, and highlighting group events. Alyssa Liddle, a laboratory analyst with Beaver Water District, who is leading the session’s planning, shared her excitement: “I believe the Arkansas Water Young Professional Network is an invaluable resource for our early-career professionals, and this conference gives us the ability to make ourselves more known so we can better serve the community around us.”

Mark your calendars for July 22 to 24, 2025, and hear from leading experts in agriculture, forestry, and water resources across Arkansas. Registration is now open. Visit the conference webpage to register and get all conference updates.
